PROUD MOMENT FOR JHELUM – USMAN ARIF FROM BURNLEY, LANCASHIRE & CHAK MEW, DINA IS RE-ELECTED AS AN INDEPENDENT LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCILLOR IN MAY 2025 ELECTIONS
Lancashire, (Special Correspondent) __ The people of Burnley North East Division have delivered a resounding result in the May 2025 Lancashire County Council elections, re-electing local experienced Solicitor and community champion Usman Arif as their Independent County Councillor.
Despite the political climate and national trend towards Reform UK, Usman Arif (Independent) received 2,430 votes, comfortably defeating his nearest rival Jim Halstead a former police officer for Reform UK, who secured 903 votes, giving Usman a majority of 1,527. His majority ranks as the second highest across all 84 divisions in Lancashire, making his re-election one of the standout results in this year’s contest.
