Steve Smith Announces Retirement from One-Day Cricket

Islamabad (Muhammad Abdullah Shahzad) – Australian cricketer Steve Smith has announced his retirement from One-Day International (ODI) cricket. The 35-year-old made this decision following Australia’s semi-final exit from the ICC Champions Trophy.

Smith played 170 ODI matches, scoring 5,800 runs at an average of 43.28, including 12 centuries. He was a key player in Australia’s World Cup victories in 2015 and 2023.

Although he has retired from ODIs, Smith will continue playing Test cricket and remains available for T20 Internationals.
