PAK Donors hold their 19th Blood Donation Drive on Friday, Aug 12, 2022 to celebrate Pakistan Independence Day. They organized the drive at the premises of Kuwait Central Blood Bank, Al Adan. Team PAK Donors dedicated this drive to the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.
The drive was conducted in response to Kuwait Central Blood Bank’s call as Kuwait is facing a shortage in blood reserves. The event was also a tribute to people who had sacrificed their lives and shed their blood during the struggle for independence.
An overwhelming number of 270 donors volunteered themselves for blood donation. The presence of Pakistanis in the majority symbolized their love for their second home. The appearance of various Pakistani community Heads in Kuwait proved their devotion to serving humanity. They appreciated the untiring efforts of team PAK Donors and promised their support in future activities of the organization.
The event was organized by the Pakistani Blood Donors Association (Pak Donors) with utmost significant support from the Insaf Welfare Society and Kuwait Central Blood Bank as partners and was graced by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Pakistani Blood Donors Association established in 2011, is the first organization of its kind among the Pakistani Community in Kuwait with an aim to spread awareness about the serious matter of Blood donation. It has conducted more than 18 drives yielding thousands of pints of blood donations since its incubation.
The effort was honored by the presence of the Ambassador of Pakistan to Kuwait H.E Malik Muhammad Farooq which became the reason for encouragement and motivation for the organizers, volunteers, and donors. HE The Ambassador took a tour of the blood bank and was overwhelmed with the commitment and dedication of the Pakistani community in Kuwait. He addressed the gathering and appreciated the arrangements and adherence to SOPs guidelines issued by the Government of Kuwait. H.E was warmly welcomed by the executive committee members of PAK Donors and prominent Pakistanis in Kuwait. Community Welfare Attaché Farrukh Amir Sial also accompanied the H.E. Ambassador of Pakistan on this Occasion.
Peer Amjad Hussain, a prominent Pakistani in Kuwait and President of Insaf Welfare Society Kuwait also accompanied H.E the Ambassador and motivated the team and donors. “Pakistani community in Kuwait made history and will always be ready to give their blood and sweat back to Kuwait which is our second home’, said Peer Amjad Hussain.
The event was also graced by respectable members of the Pakistani community in Kuwait, who participated and appreciated the effort.
It is worth mentioning that Blood Banks in Kuwait are extremely professional, supportive, and well organized. Pak Donors is thankful for this ongoing support.
NCM Investment & Zain Telcom, well-known Kuwaiti business organization, participated in event under their CSR program. Their Team members graced the event and appreciated the efforts of organizing team, arrangements made by Kuwait Blood Bank and overwhelming number of donors. Dr. Samia Al-Saidan from Green Hands Environmental Team graced the event along with their team Volunteers to encourage donors.
A cake-cutting ceremony was also held at the event as a part of Independence Day celebrations. H.E Malik Muhammad Farooq cut the cake along with Team Pak Donors and Insaf Welfare Society, Kuwait. The Pakistani Ambassador to Kuwait congratulated team PAK Donors and associates for arranging such a well-organized event for humanity and boosting the image of Pakistan in Kuwait. Senior Adviser, Irfan Saeed, thanked all the media persons for covering and making the event successful.
PAK Donors aspires to inspire other communities to spread awareness of blood donation in Kuwait.
