Bilawal Bhutto to Raise Kashmiris’ Rights with EU authorities: Ali Raza Syed

Brussels, (Unib Rashid) The Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) Chairman Ali Raza Syed appreciates Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former Foreign Minister of Pakistan, for his recent statement emphasizing that “peace and prosperity in South Asia are intrinsically linked to the resolution of the Kashmir issue.”

As Mr. Bhutto Zardari leads a high-level delegation to Brussels for upcoming meetings with EU officials, the Kashmir Council EU Chair Ali Raza Syed urges him to highlight India’s grave human rights violations in Indian-Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOK), including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary detentions, and suppression of political dissent.

Bilawal should call for EU intervention to pressure India to halt its aggression against Kashmiris. He added, beside occupied Kashmir, people of Azad Kashmir are also not safe from India as in the Indian recent attacks on Azad Kashmir, a number of civilians were killed and homes of innocent Kashmiris destroyed in the occupied Kashmir under the pretext of the “Pahlgam attack.

Chairman KCEU also urged for a peaceful, UN-backed resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with international laws and Kashmiri aspirations.

He said, India’s unprovoked shelling across the Line of Control (LoC) has resulted in civilian casualties and displacement, targeting of innocent Kashmiris under fabricated narratives exposes India’s state terrorism.

“The world cannot turn a blind eye while Kashmiris endure occupation and violence,” Ali Raza Syed said. He said. the EU must end its silence and play an active role in holding India accountable. We commend Mr. Bhutto Zardari’s efforts in Washington, where he exposed India’s violations, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty. The Chair of KCEU urged Bilawal to replicate this advocacy in Europe.

Chairman of Kashmir Council EU demanded immediate cessation of human rights abuses in IIOK, EU-led investigations into India’s war crimes and diplomatic pressure for a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.
