RAWALPINDI, (TW NEWS) – Foreign Minister of Syria H.E. Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, accompanied by a delegation, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, on Friday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment and prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of defence and security.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir highlighted the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Syria and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability. He also shared Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional security, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts and closer cooperation to address common security challenges.

The visiting Syrian Foreign Minister appreciated the professional role played by the Armed Forces of Pakistan in promoting peace and stability in the region.

Both sides reiterated their resolve to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation and engagements, particularly in the areas of defence and security.
