During the protest, speakers also recalled the violent events following the 1984 assassination of Indira Gandhi, in which thousands of Sikhs were reportedly killed and properties were looted within a span of three days.
Protesters stated that Sikh religion, culture, and identity are distinct and that an independent state is their fundamental and legal right. They pledged to continue presenting their case before international institutions and governments worldwide in pursuit of an independent homeland.
Participants also expressed concern over alleged mistreatment of Sikhs in India and reported instances of targeted killings abroad, urging the international community to take action against what they described as unlawful and inhumane practices.
The Sikh community reaffirmed its resolve, stating that the establishment of Khalistan is inevitable in the future.
