BRUSSELS/ISTANBUL, (Unib Rashid) – Senior civil and military officials from Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia met in Istanbul on Tuesday under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, also known as the Makkah Accord, to discuss matters of mutual defence and security cooperation.
Pakistan was represented at the high-level meeting by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), and Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
The meeting brings together senior defence and government officials from the three countries as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic coordination and defence cooperation among Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.

The Makkah Accord provides a framework for closer defence collaboration among the participating countries, with the latest meeting in Istanbul focusing on strengthening security ties and enhancing coordination on matters of mutual interest.
The participation of Pakistan’s top military and civilian leadership underscores Islamabad’s commitment to deepening its strategic and defence partnership with Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
The meeting is being held in Istanbul, Türkiye, with officials expected to exchange views on regional security developments and explore avenues for further cooperation in the defence and security sectors.
