BRUSSELS/TASHKENT, (Unib Rashid) – Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Muhammad Mudassar Tipu has urged Pakistani nationals travelling to Uzbekistan for employment to use only legal and authorized channels for obtaining visas and securing jobs, while completely avoiding unregistered agents and informal arrangements.

In his message, the ambassador advised Pakistani citizens who wish to travel to Uzbekistan for employment or seek job opportunities there to preferably process their visas and employment arrangements through registered Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs). They are also advised to obtain a work protector from the Bureau of Immigration & Overseas Employment before travelling.

Ambassador Mudassar Tipu said that currently, most individuals travelling from Pakistan to Uzbekistan for employment are initially issued a B-2 visa by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan. After their arrival in Uzbekistan, the visa is converted into an E-visa by the employer, subject to the verification and vetting of various documents by the Uzbek authorities.

The ambassador advised Pakistani nationals to obtain a valid employment contract before travelling to Uzbekistan in order to avoid potential financial and legal complications.

He further cautioned Pakistani citizens to leave Uzbekistan before the expiry of their visas. Overstaying may result in heavy penalties and possible legal action under Uzbek law.

Ambassador Mudassar Tipu strongly urged Pakistanis to completely avoid processing visas through unregistered agents, unknown individuals or informal channels, as such arrangements may expose them to financial losses and legal complications.

He also advised Pakistani nationals to immediately contact the Embassy of Pakistan in Uzbekistan whenever assistance is required. Citizens should keep their passports in their own possession at all times and register themselves with the Pakistani Embassy soon after arriving in Uzbekistan.
