A Pakistani-born German national in Germany has been awarded the Civil Award for Democracy and Human Rights 2024.
Special Correspondent report:- Kamran Malik has received the civil award for Democracy and Human Rights in 2024 from the Hessen district of Gross-Gerau, Germany, in recognition of his 20 years of social and welfare services. Mr. Malik is the son of Mr. Arshad Ahmad Shahbaz, Deputy Chairman of the Foreigners’ Advisory Council of Darmstadt.
The civil award ceremony took place on November 11, 2024, in the hall of the Gross-Gerau district in the state of Hessen. The District Chief Administrator, Mr. Thomas Will, presented the civil award to Mr. Kamran Malik and acknowledged his contributions to social and welfare services.
The event was attended by the head of the city, leaders of German organizations, and numerous dignitaries. At the ceremony, they highlighted in the video presentation his significant contributions, acknowledging that Kamran Malik is commendable for promoting the values of peace, love for humanity, human rights, and mutual respect and dialogue among all parties. He is regarded as a hardworking and indispensable pillar of the society, serving as a role model for others to emulate, said Mr David Rendel, the Mayor of the City in his speech.
Kamran Malik’s philanthropic efforts embraces charity walks, interfaith dialogue, social and human rights initiatives, organizing tree planting events, visiting nursing homes, and providing food in refugee shelters. He has also played a crucial role in organizing charity walks to support earthquake victims in Turkey and war-affected individuals in Lubny, Ukraine, as well as for local welfare and educational institutions. Additionally, he was instrumental in acquiring a 2,700 square meter plot from the city administration for a mosque in the city.
In his appreciative speech, Kamran Malik first expressed his gratitude to his parents for instilling in him the values of love and compassion for his fellow human beings. He then thanked District Chief Administrator Mr. Thomas Will, Mayor of the city Mr. David Rendel, head of the social affairs and education department Mrs. Kerstin Jühe, and Senior City Councilor Mrs. Dorothee Herberich for their kind words and gestures of appreciation and support.
