London, (Special Correspondent) — On Monday, 27 October, members of the British Kashmiri community staged a strong protest outside the Indian High Commission in London against India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
The demonstration was organized by the All-Party International Kashmir Coordination Committee and drew a large number of participants from various cities across the United Kingdom. Protesters raised slogans against India and condemned the ongoing human rights violations in the occupied territory, calling for international intervention.
Prominent among those who attended were Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Qurban, Coordinator of the Kashmir Solidarity Campaign Luton; Mufti Khalid Mahmood of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam; and Faheem Kayani, President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, along with other community leaders.
Speakers urged the British government and the international community to play their due role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and to help the oppressed people of Kashmir achieve their right to self-determination.
They also demanded the immediate release of Kashmiri political prisoners detained in Indian jails and reiterated that the Kashmiri people would continue their struggle for freedom until they can live with dignity and liberty in their homeland.
