UNRWA Launches Education Program for Children Affected by Gaza Conflict

Brussels, (Unib Rashid) __ The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine (UNRWA) has begun providing education to Palestinian children who survived the recent conflict. UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini announced today that, following the ceasefire, the agency has accelerated its “Back to Learning” program in Gaza, both in person and online.

According to him, more than 25,000 children have already joined UNRWA’s “temporary learning spaces,” and efforts are underway to expand these facilities further. He added that, in parallel, UNRWA is conducting online classes aimed at reaching approximately 300,000 children.

Lazzarini emphasized that literacy and education serve as antidotes to despair and trauma. He also praised the dedication of UNRWA staff, stating that none of this would have been possible without the thousands of agency teachers who demonstrate extraordinary commitment every single day.
