Brusselss/Lahore, (Unib Rashid) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation this afternoon with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, during which the two leaders discussed the prevailing regional situation, recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

In a warm and cordial conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the recent Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic infrastructure.

Expressing Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the Saudi leadership and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister said the recent Houthi actions posed a serious threat to regional peace and security and could further disrupt the global economy and energy supplies.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that he, along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, would continue efforts aimed at defusing tensions and promoting peace and stability in the region.

The Prime Minister also lauded Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for his wise and sagacious leadership throughout the ongoing crisis.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his warm wishes and respectful regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in turn, appreciated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and acknowledged its continued efforts for peace and stability in the region.

The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact and expressed their desire to meet at an early date.
