Brussels, (Unib Rashid) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) during a farewell meeting with the organization’s Secretary General, H.E. Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar, at the Prime Minister House.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended Ambassador Sarwar for his dedicated service and leadership in promoting regional cooperation throughout his tenure. He acknowledged the Secretary General’s efforts to strengthen collaboration among SAARC member states despite the challenges facing the regional bloc.
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the principles and objectives of the SAARC Charter, emphasizing the need to revitalize regional cooperation to enhance connectivity, promote sustainable development, and foster shared prosperity for the people of South Asia.
He also conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar for success in his future endeavors.
Ambassador Sarwar thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s continued support during his tenure as Secretary General of SAARC and appreciated the country’s constructive engagement with the regional organization.
