Dubai, (Tahir Munir Tahir) __ A delegation from the United Arab Emirates, led by Ahmed bin Lahij Al Falasi, Director General of Customs and Port Security, met with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to discuss bilateral relations, mutual cooperation, and measures to further simplify immigration procedures for passengers.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to formalize a Pre-Immigration Clearance agreement between Pakistan and the UAE. Under this system, passengers’ immigration and related clearance procedures will be completed in Pakistan prior to departure, enabling travelers to bypass lengthy immigration processes upon arrival in the UAE.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that once the system is implemented, passengers arriving in the UAE will be able to exit the airport like domestic travelers, without undergoing standard immigration checks. He emphasized that the initiative will significantly enhance travel convenience, save time, and improve the overall passenger experience.
It was agreed that the initiative will be launched initially on a pilot basis, with Karachi selected as the first phase of implementation. Relevant authorities from both countries will remain in close coordination to finalize administrative and technical arrangements. Following a successful pilot, the system will be gradually expanded to additional locations.
The UAE delegation welcomed the initiative and expressed strong commitment to cooperation, describing it as beneficial for the people of both countries and a positive step toward strengthening bilateral ties.
The UAE delegation included Juma Abdullah Al Qabi, Executive Director Digital Transformation, Hamad Saif Al Mashghouni, Executive Director Airports, along with other senior officials. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry and Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Agha were also present at the meeting.
