Brussels, (Unib Rashid) – To highlight the services of former Pakistani ambassadors to Belgium, the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels has published the first story in its announced series ‘From the Archives’.
The first ambassador mentioned with the subtitle of “Diplomatic Reflections of Pakistan” was Mr. JA Rahim. In this regard, we are publishing it for you as the embassy has described it.

Pakistan’s First Ambassador to Belgium: Mr. J.A.Rahim
H.E. Jalaluddin Abdur Rahim (1906-1977) was born in Chittagong and studied at Universities of Dhaka, Cambridge, Munich and Calcutta. After playing a prominent role in the Pakistan Movement as a renowned left-leaning leader, Abdur Rahim joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan. He was the first Ambassador of Pakistan to Belgium, serving from April 1952 to 1953.
A senior civil servant, an ambassador to several countries (including Germany and France), H.E. J.A. Rahim served as the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan (1953-1955) in the government of Prime minister Muhammad Ali Bogra.
Today we celebrate H.E. Jalaluddin Abdur Rahim for laying the foundations of Pakistan-Belgium relations.
