Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reiterates Pakistan’s commitment to a peaceful resolution in line with UN Security Council resolutions.
Brussels/Islamabad (Unib Rashid) – Pakistan has reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir on Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, renewing its call for a peaceful, just, and lasting resolution of the long-standing dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
In a video message released to mark the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s principled position on the Kashmir issue, emphasizing the country’s continued diplomatic, political, and moral support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Senator Dar stated that Pakistan remains committed to advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people and called on the international community to play its role in ensuring a peaceful settlement of the dispute in line with international law and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir is observed annually on August 5 to commemorate the revocation of the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir by India in 2019. Pakistan marks the day by reaffirming its support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and highlighting the importance of resolving the dispute through peaceful means.
The government reiterated that lasting peace and stability in South Asia depend on a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people and internationally recognized legal frameworks.
