Vienna, (Muhammad Amir Siddique) – A flag hoisting ceremony was organized at the Pakistan Embassy Vienna Austria on the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day under the patronage of His Excellency Ambassador of Pakistan His Mohammad Kamran Akhtar on Friday, August 14 at 10 am. In which women and children of the Pakistani community in Austria from different cities across Austria participated in the ceremony in love with Pakistan and expressed their love for their beloved homeland.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Austria, Mohammad Kamran Akhtar, hoisted the national green crescent flag and on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, President Asif Ali Zardari and Deputy Head of Mission Adeel Khan Afridi read out the messages of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to the nation.
Earlier, the Independence Day celebration ceremony was inaugurated with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Manzoor Ahmed Butt. Third Secretary Syeda Mubashara Urooj, who performed the duties of the stage secretary, extended her congratulations to the Pakistani community on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day and thanked them for participating in the ceremony.
Addressing the audience at the Independence Day celebration, Ambassador of Pakistan Mohammad Kamran Akhtar paid tribute to the glorious struggle of the founders of Pakistan and the visionary and wise leadership of Quaid-e-Azam. He reiterated the nation’s resolve to implement Quaid-e-Azam’s vision in building Pakistan as a democratic, progressive and forward-looking Islamic country.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in South Asia as well as its success in defeating terrorism through determination and resilience. He urged the Pakistani community to remain united and peacefully confront the negative and inciteful propaganda against Pakistan. Prayers were offered for the security, progress and prosperity of Pakistan. At the end of the ceremony, the Ambassador of Pakistan also posed for photographs with children and adults of the Pakistani community.
