LONDON : Incidents of sexual harassment on London’s buses and trains have increased.
According to foreign media reports, Transport for London (TFL) has said that 1,813 cases of sexual harassment were reported on trains and buses in one year.
According to TFL, despite the awareness campaign, 1,813 incidents were reported this year compared to 1,067, with most incidents of sexual harassment occurring during peak hours.
Transport for London says that despite the campaign, less than 50 per cent of women report incidents of sexual harassment, and the zero tolerance campaign against women will continue next year.
TFL is calling for more incidents of harassment against women to be reported, with police patrols being increased to ensure women travel safely.
