Brussels, (Unib Rashid) — A meeting of the “Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution” is being held today in the European capital, Brussels. Organized with the support of the European External Action Service and Belgium, the session is attended by representatives from nearly 60 countries and international organizations, including the Prime Ministers of Palestine and Norway, as well as the Saudi Foreign Minister, Saud Al-Faisal. A donor conference for Palestine will also be held following the meeting.
Speaking at the افتتاحی session, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas said that the global alliance has returned to Brussels. She emphasized that the initiative aims to strengthen collective efforts to advance a two-state solution based on international law. The New York Declaration serves as a guiding framework, focusing on deepening cooperation toward the two-state solution.
Kallas stressed the importance of upholding international law, human rights, and accountability, as well as ensuring the protection of the Palestinian people. She stated that the two-state solution remains the only viable path for Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace, dignity, and security.

She also condemned Israel’s establishment of new settlements, calling it an attempt to undermine the two-state solution, and urged Israel to refrain from such actions.
Meanwhile, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide stated that Palestine urgently needs global attention, describing the situation as highly fragile. He noted that more than 90 countries and organizations have come together under this global alliance with the shared goal of improving conditions on the ground and paving the way for a Palestinian state.
Some European and American media outlets are describing the Brussels meeting as an alternative to the “Board of Peace” proposed by the U.S. President for Gaza, particularly because that initiative did not include the primary party to the conflict—the Palestinians—and had suspended their funding. In contrast, today’s meeting prominently includes the Prime Minister of the Palestinian Authority.
It is worth noting that the alliance was established in 2024 in New York with the cooperation of the European Union and Saudi Arabia, and its inaugural meeting was attended by 90 countries.
