Energy Crisis Threatens Business Stability, FPCCI Warns.

Brussels/Karachi, (Unib Rashid) — A press conference hosted by the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry highlighted growing concerns over Pakistan’s ongoing energy crisis and its far-reaching impact on the national economy.

Patron-in-Chief of UBG, S.M. Tanveer, stated that industries—particularly restaurants and small businesses—play a vital role in employment generation but continue to suffer due to inconsistent energy supply and escalating electricity tariffs, especially during peak hours.

He stressed that investment naturally gravitates toward stability and opportunity, warning that persistent economic uncertainty is driving capital out of Pakistan. According to him, the current energy challenges are not only increasing operational costs but also undermining business confidence.

FPCCI leadership urged the government to implement urgent and practical reforms aimed at stabilizing the energy sector, easing the financial burden on businesses, and restoring investor confidence to ensure sustainable economic growth.
