Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Holds Telephone Conversation with Greek Foreign Minister

Athens, (Parvez Mughal) — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq, held a telephone conversation today with the Foreign Minister of Greece, George Gerapetritis.

During the call, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister briefed his Greek counterpart on the prevailing regional situation. He categorically rejected India’s baseless allegations, disinformation campaign, and unilateral actions that pose a serious threat to regional peace and stability. He particularly condemned India’s unilateral decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, terming it a clear violation of its international legal obligations.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability in the region, the DPM/FM underscored the country’s resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and national interests. He reiterated Pakistan’s demand for an independent and transparent investigation to ascertain the facts surrounding the current developments.

Foreign Minister Gerapetritis stressed the importance of exercising restraint and avoiding escalation in order to preserve regional peace. He welcomed Pakistan’s proposal for a neutral and transparent inquiry into the matter.

Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination on regional and global issues.
