BRUSSELS/NEW YORK, (Unib Rashid) — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met Federal Chancellor of Austria Christian Stocker on the sidelines of the inaugural session of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the two leaders to exchange views on matters of mutual interest and discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Austria.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chancellor Christian Stocker also discussed issues of regional and international significance on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session.

The meeting formed part of the Prime Minister’s diplomatic engagements in New York, where he is participating in the 81st session of the UN General Assembly and holding meetings with leaders and senior officials from various countries.

Pakistan and Austria maintain bilateral relations covering areas including trade, investment, education, development cooperation and people-to-people contacts.
