Brussels, (Special Correspondent) – Chairman of the Pakistan Benelux Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PABOCCI), Hafiz Uneeb Rashid, President Rana Javed Kausar, and the entire team have congratulated Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, Rahim Hayat Qureshi, on being awarded the prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

The congratulations were conveyed by Hafiz Uneeb Rashid during a personal meeting with the Ambassador. He highly praised Ambassador Qureshi’s outstanding diplomatic achievements and described him as a proud son of the nation.

It is worth mentioning that President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari had recommended the award in recognition of Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi’s key role in easing tensions between Pakistan and Iran following the missile exchange incident in January 2024.

During that critical period, Ambassador Qureshi also provided valuable analytical guidance to Pakistan’s political leadership and played an important role in facilitating the visit of the Iranian Foreign Minister to Pakistan. In recognition of his efforts to restore cordial relations between the two brotherly Islamic countries, he was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

Furthermore, due to the absence of PABOCCI President Rana Javed Kausar, who is currently in Pakistan, Rana Bilal Sarwar and Rana Tabassum Javed represented him and presented a bouquet to the Ambassador on behalf of the organization.
