Bradford, (Zahid Anwar Mirza) – A Unity Iftar dinner aimed at promoting interfaith harmony was organized by the UK Islamic Mission at the Al‑Hira Islamic Centre in Bradford.
The event brought together people from different faiths and cultural backgrounds. Among the attendees were local councillors, representatives of West Yorkshire Police, members of local churches, representatives of schools and individuals from various walks of life.
Addressing the gathering, Hafiz Muhammad Azad highlighted key teachings of Islam and emphasized that there is no compulsion in religion. He said Islam promotes freedom of thought and gives equal importance to all human beings regardless of caste, sect or region.
Guests at the event appreciated the goodwill shown by the Muslim community, noting that interaction among people from different religions and cultures helps create mutual understanding, strengthens relationships and provides an opportunity to better understand each other’s beliefs.
The management of the Al-Hira Islamic Centre thanked the participants and said the purpose of the event was to promote interfaith harmony and brotherhood, while also addressing misconceptions related to Islamophobia. They added that such initiatives are essential for maintaining a positive environment among diverse religious communities and for promoting tolerance and mutual respect.
