Dubai, (Tahir Munir Tahir) __ On the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Dialogue 2026, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain held a meeting with Dr. Asif Nazrul, Adviser on Migrant Welfare and Overseas Employment of Bangladesh.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the shared challenges faced by their overseas labor forces and exchanged views on best practices for skills development and training of foreign workers.
The Pakistani side briefed the meeting on the role and initiatives of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), while the Bangladeshi delegation shared insights into the operational framework of their technical training centers.
Both delegations also explored avenues to enhance bilateral cooperation in education, health, tourism, and trade.
The Chairman of the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI), Pakistan, informed the participants about the institution’s mandate, functions, and its role in providing social protection to workers.
Emphasizing the importance of structured collaboration, both sides expressed strong interest in learning from each other’s experiences and adopting best practices in human resource development and labor export, including recruitment processes, skills training, and reintegration mechanisms for returning workers.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued engagement and constructive dialogue to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Senior officials from the Pakistani and Bangladeshi diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates were also present at the meeting.
