Boxing training for self-defense organized at Bradford University to empower women and ensure their safety.

Bradford, (Zahid Anwar Mirza) __ To empower women and ensure their safety, a boxing training session focused on personal defence was organized at the University of Bradford. Bradford’s own Superfly Boxing World Champion, Tasif Khan, introduced students to self-defence techniques.

This training session, held specifically for female students of the university, was part of the ongoing global campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.”

World Boxing Champion Tasif Khan said that the purpose of the training session was not just to teach boxing, but to build confidence among women, train them to stay aware of their surroundings, and help them feel secure within society.

Samiya Mehmood, President of the Social Justice Society at the University of Bradford, said that Tasif Khan is known for empowering young people and serving the community. By combining basic physical techniques with strategies for mental awareness, the women participating today are leaving more confident and better equipped to defend themselves.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bradford, Shirley Congdon, said regarding the campaign that their initiative is part of the United Nations program aimed at ending violence against women and girls. “We want to help women feel safe so they can develop practical skills for their protection and play their role in society without fear.”

Female students who participated in the boxing training session said that such activities help build confidence, increase awareness of their surroundings, and make them feel safer.
