Standing with Kashmir is more than compassion — it is a moral obligation: Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai

Islamabad, November 30, 2025 (TW News) __ An extraordinary and truly inspiring conference was organized by Voice of Justice in Kashmir (VOJIK) in Islamabad, Pakistan. It was not just another event — it was a moment of awakening. Diplomats, politicians, academics, intellectuals, human rights defenders, and university students gathered under one roof, united by a shared purpose and a shared responsibility.

Sardar Zubair Khan, Director, Community Engagement of VOJIK explained that ours is an advocacy organization dedicated to promoting the just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir conflict in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter. It serves as a credible global platform to amplify the voices of the oppressed, engage policymakers, and shape international opinion toward the right of self-determination for the people of Jammu & Kashmir. We also want to unite the global Kashmiri and South Asian communities for coordinated advocacy and humanitarian outreach.

Professor Waris Ali Khan, Chairman, International Advisory Board of the VOJIK and Emcee of the conference pointed out that the mission of this organization is to advocate the fundamental human and political rights of the Kashmiri people, particularly their right to self-determination, by engaging governments, international institutions, think tanks, civil society, and the global media.

Sardar Zulfiqar Roshan Khan, Director, Government Affairs of VOJIK pointed out that the vision of this new organization is a world where the people of Kashmir live with freedom, dignity, and justice, enjoying their inalienable right to determine their own future through peaceful and democratic means.

Sardar Zarif Khan, Director, Research and Advocacy of VOJIK stated via Vido message that we would like to produce evidence-based reports, policy briefs, and seminars to inform global decision-makers. Our Approach is that through diplomacy, documentation, and dialogue, VOJIK strives to shift global perception from silence to solidarity — transforming awareness into action for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

Mohammad Nadim Khokher, Director, Media Relations elaborated that we want to organize conferences, media campaigns, and cultural events to highlight human rights violations and humanitarian needs in Kashmir. Collaboration with human rights organizations, universities, and media networks to strengthen the international narrative on Kashmir is also one of our objectives.

Sardar Shoaib Irshad, Director of Financial Management outlined the motto of VOJIK in these words, “From Awareness to Action — Justice for Kashmir.”

Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Chairman, World Forum for Peace & Justice elucidated that the message of the conference was powerful: the people of Azad Kashmir and the people of Pakistan must recognize that supporting the Kashmir cause is not merely an act of sympathy — it is a moral obligation, a national duty, and a sacred trust. A new organization has been established primarily by Americans of Azad Kashmir ancestry to guide and mobilize this responsibility, to make the people realize that Kashmir needs more than prayers — it needs action, ownership, and unwavering commitment.

Ambassador Masood Khan, former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir said that we all know that the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir cannot raise their voices. Their land has been silenced, their identity suppressed, and their freedom chained. When peace and justice are under siege, speaking the truth becomes a crime — and silence becomes survival.

Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan former PM and President of AJK stated that this conference did more than share ideas — it ignited a flame. A flame of responsibility, unity, and hope. And once a flame like this is lit, it can illuminate nations. However, Sardar Yaqub Khan added that today’s conference must not end with applause — it must begin with action.

Muhammad Rafiq Dar, chief spokesperson of JKLF, Yasin Malik said those who live in freedom must speak for those who cannot. Those who can raise their voices must do so on behalf of those who have been denied even the right to whisper.

Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Ameer, Jamaat – e – Islami AJK & GB stated that the remarkable presence of a diverse audience — different backgrounds, different beliefs, different political views — was a powerful reminder that despite all differences, the cause of Kashmir unites hearts. It reflects a growing realization in Azad Kashmir: that they must become the voice of the voiceless.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) — AJK enunciated that if the people of Kashmir under occupation are being silenced, then the people of Azad Kashmir must become their echo. If their stories are being buried, we must become their storytellers. If their dreams are being suffocated, we must become the guardians of those dreams.

Nazir Ahmed Qureshi, Chairman, Mercy Universal outlined that we will not allow the silence around Kashmir to become normal and that we will not allow injustice to become acceptable. Let us pledge that we will not allow the suffering of our brothers and sisters to fade into statistics or headlines.

Abdul Rasheed Turabi, former Amir Jamat e Islamic AJK and GB delineated that today’s conference must not end with applause — it must begin with action. Let us return to our homes, our universities, our institutions, and our communities with a renewed sense of purpose. Every one of us has a role to play. Every voice matters. Every effort counts.

Professor Sami Al-Arian, leading scholar of International Relations from Turkey said that if the chains of occupation are strong, our unity must be stronger. If their voices have been suppressed, ours must be louder. If hope is under attack, then we — the fortunate ones — must defend it.

Mehmet Ozturk, prominent Turkish journalist told the conference participants that the road ahead is long, but history has always favored those who refuse to give up. Together — united in heart and purpose — we will keep the flame of justice alive until it lights the sky of Kashmir with freedom.

Dr. Waleed Rasool academic and Kashmiri scholar said that it is only when we communicate our narrative with balance, grounded in reason and logic, that the world will be compelled to recognize our suffering.

Zafar Qureishi, Chairman, Kashmir Global Campaign reminded us that the diaspora carries a sacred responsibility to stand together for the greater cause. If our leaders are silenced in prisons, then it is upon us to raise our voices louder across the world.

Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi, Senior leader of PML N in Azad Jammu & Kashmir said that this is not a struggle of a day, a speech, or a conference. It is a journey of conscience.

Sardar Abid Razzaq Senior Vice President Muslim Conference stated that let us become ambassadors of truth, advocates of justice, and protectors of the dream of freedom.

Haider Malik Sialvi, Chairman of Pakistan Nazriyati Party (PNP) said that although we may belong to different parties, we stand together under one powerful slogan — Kashmiris must be free from Indian occupation.

Imran Aziz, a prominent businessman passionately urged the leadership of Azad Kashmir to devise a clear and actionable strategy to awaken public opinion within the region and around the world — because only then can our oppressed brethren in Kashmir begin to experience relief, justice, and dignity.

Dr. Bedar and Sheikh Usama, both of Albania expressed their solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
