Councillor Nasir Chaudhry Raises Questions Over Poor Conditions in Brussels Police Stations.

Brussels, (Unib Rashid) – Mohammad Nasir, City Councillor of the central commune 1000 Brussels, has raised serious concerns about the working conditions inside police stations in Brussels.

Speaking to this correspondent, Councillor Nasir said that during the recent meeting of the Police Council, he questioned the head of the Police Council, Philippe Close, and Brussels Police Chief Michel Goovaerts about the state of police facilities.

“My question was simple,” Nasir explained. “If the Police Council itself cannot visit the police stations to assess the working environment of officers, then whose responsibility is it? And is there any recent report evaluating the conditions in which our police officers are performing their duties? If such a report exists, I would like to review it.”

In response, Philippe Close assured that the report would be made available to him.

Councillor Nasir explained that he raised the issue because he lives close to a police station and frequently visits it to assist citizens.

“From what I’ve seen, the environment inside is not as good as it should be. Many things can be improved to create a more positive and efficient workplace for our police officers,” he said.

He further noted that some senior officers, who are only a few years away from retirement, are opting for early retirement due to poor working conditions.

“If we can provide better facilities and a more supportive environment in Brussels police stations, it will encourage experienced officers to serve longer and inspire younger generations to join the police force,” he added.
