LUTON, (Special Correspondent) __ Coordinator of the Kashmir Solidarity Campaign Luton, Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Qurban, has reaffirmed that the Kashmiri people remain determined to continue their political and diplomatic struggle for freedom from Indian occupation.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of various community and political representatives held at Luton Central Mosque, Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Qurban said that the Kashmiri nation has pledged to pursue its peaceful struggle for self-determination with renewed commitment.
He announced that, to mark 78 years of India’s occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Kashmir groups will hold a protest outside the Indian High Commission in London to express solidarity with the innocent people of Occupied Kashmir who continue to face oppression under Indian rule.
Preparations for the London demonstration were finalised during the Luton meeting, which took place on Monday, 13 October 2025, at 6:45 p.m. (after Maghrib prayers) at Luton Central Mosque, Westbourne Road.
The meeting was attended by a number of prominent figures of the Kashmiri diaspora. According to Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Qurban addressing the gathering, speakers highlighted that India illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on 27 October 1947,. Still, despite more than seven decades of repression, the Kashmiri people continue their courageous struggle for freedom.
Participants called upon community leaders, councillors, and activists to take an active part in the united campaign for the freedom of Kashmir, urging everyone to join the protest and raise their voices in solidarity with the oppressed people of the region.
Haji Chaudhry Muhammad Qurban reiterated that the Kashmiri community in the UK stands firm in its commitment to support the right to self-determination and to highlight Indian atrocities at every political and diplomatic platform.
