London/Brussels, (Unib Rashid) – British Member of Parliament Afzal Khan has lauded Pakistan’s leadership in ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions between United States and Iran, emphasizing Islamabad’s commitment to peace and regional stability.

He specifically praised Shehbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar, and Syed Asim Munir for their efforts in helping achieve a ceasefire, stating that “the whole world is indebted” to their contributions toward peace.
During his address, Khan also questioned the UK Government on what concrete steps it is taking to support Pakistan’s diplomatic initiative and ensure a sustainable and lasting peace in the Middle East. He underscored the importance of cooperation between London and Islamabad, describing Pakistan as a long-standing ally of the United Kingdom.
Responding to the query, Keir Starmer acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role and reiterated Britain’s support for the peace process. He informed Parliament that he had personally spoken with Pakistan’s Prime Minister ahead of the talks to discuss potential support mechanisms.
Starmer further revealed that the UK Foreign Secretary had also engaged with Pakistani counterparts, stressing that it is “very important” to back ongoing diplomatic efforts, prevent further escalation, and help move the process toward a peaceful resolution.
The exchange reflects growing international recognition of Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement in one of the most sensitive geopolitical crises, as global powers seek to avoid further escalation in the region.
