VIENNA : The Pakistani Parliamentary delegation visited the Austrian Parliament, where they were welcomed by Mr. Harald Dossi, Secretary General of the Austrian Parliament. A comprehensive briefing on Austria’s political system and the functioning of its Parliament was provided, highlighting the significance of parliamentary exchanges.
The delegation also held in-depth discussions and exchange of views on the parliamentary budgetary oversight mechanism in Austria, working of Parliamentary Budgetary Office (PBO) and the Budget Committee of Austrian National Council.
Briefings were provided by the Heads of Research Division of Parliament & Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO), Chairperson of National Council’s Budget Committee and Deputy Director, Secretariat of Intl Orgs of Supreme Audit Institutions of Austria (INTOSAI).
Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation between the parliaments of both countries in the area of parliamentary budgetary oversight. The delegation also expressed interest to learn from Austrian experience in this area.
