Brussels, (Unib Rashid) __ Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) Ali Raza Syed has said that the Indian move of August 5, 2019, was aimed at upholding its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
Ali Raza Syed’s statement was issued in connection day of 5th August 2019, when by removing the articles 370 and 35A of its constitution, the Indian government annulled special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, Kashmiri leaders, political workers, human rights activists and journalists were jailed by Indian authorities and atrocities against the people of Kashmir were rapidly increased.
Supporting the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir, he condemned the Indian atrocities against the Kashmiris struggling for their right to self determination.
Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed said, by removing the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, India could not hide the Kashmir dispute which is related to the right to self determination of people of Kashmir. People of Kashmir will never give up their right to self determination.
Ali Raza Syed said, Kashmiris protest Indian illegal actions in Kashmir and Kashmiris in other parts of the world also participant in the protest in their host countries.
He called for end of Indian brutalities in the illegally occupied Kashmir especially violence against the Kashmiri women and children.
Chair of KC-EU asked the international community including UN and EU to play their role for ending atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and implementation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions, giving the right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people. He also called for withdrawal of Indian occupation forces, an end to Indian state terrorism, end to genocidal repression and rape, gang-rape, torture, and degrading treatment of Kashmiri men, women, and children. Ali Raza Syed also called for unconditionally release of all detained Kashmiri political figures and human rights activists and journalists including Hurriat leaders Muhammad Yasin Malik and Shabbir Ahmad Shah and human right defender Khurram Pervaiz and journalist Sajjad Gul.
Chair of KC-EU asked the international community to play its role for a peaceful resolution of Kashmir and said, participation of the Kashmiri leadership in all rounds of the peace process on Kashmir should be ensured.
Ali Raza Syed has attended a number conferences and webinars and spoken to the media over the past few days to mark the day of 5th August. He attended an event hosted by the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels on Monday.
Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed also remotely participated in the Online programs hosted by Syed Ishtiaq Hamdani, Chief Editor of Sad-e-Kashmir Rus and Coordinator Tehrik e Kashmir Russia, and Shahid Ghumman of Kashmir Alliance Forum Moscow. On 5th August, Ali Raza Syed will also participate in events on Kashmir issue in Germany and France at the Embassy of Pakistan in Germany and the Embassy of Pakistan in France. In addition to these programs, he will also join the other events to be held in the capital Paris.
