The European Union has awarded the first nine recipients of its Team Europe Challenge Fund in Lahore to promote innovation and sustainability in Pakistan’s textile sector. Selected companies will receive co-financing of up to €100,000 to turn innovative ideas into practical solutions.
SAWiE Ecosystems and the Organic Cotton Accelerator are working to improve the commercial availability and quality of non-GMO cotton seeds in Pakistan.
The initiative targets approximately 40 tonnes of seeds across 100 acres, with a focus on quality testing, genetic purity and supply chain transparency.
