Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) Ali Raza Syed in a statement said, although UDHR recognizes fundamental rights including right to self-determination, but it is deeply regrettable that even today, people of Kashmir remain deprived of these basic rights. The people in Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir continue to live under the shadow of severe human rights violations, political restrictions, and systematic psychological and physical oppression committed by Indian occupation authorities. The continuous denial of fundamental rights—including self-determination, freedom of expression, and access to justice by Indian authorities—remains a major concern for the international community.
According to Chair of KCEU Ali Raza Syed, the primary objective of this seminar is to draw global attention to the grave human rights situation and constant denial of right to self-determination in the occupied Kashmir. The event will bring together representatives from various political and social organizations, intellectuals, legal experts, human rights activists, and professionals from different walks of life.
Kashmiris should be granted their right to self-determination and a respectful position among the comity of the nations.
