LONDON:A car used by the Prince of Wales, Princess Diana, has sold for £650,000 (around Rs 17 crore) at an auction to mark her 25th birthday.
A black 1986 Ford Escort RS Turbo model used by Princess Diana has been bought by a Cheshire buyer for £6.5million.
According to the Associated Press, auctioneer Silverstone claims the car was used by Diana in the 1980s.
This car was driven by Lady Diana herself from 1985 to 1988. He also took many pictures with it. Diana mostly drove the car alone while she was accompanied by security guards.
The auction house also said the black Ford Escort RS Turbo received high bids.
According to the auction house, “the UK resident (who has not been named) paid 12.5% of the premium price”.
Fans in Britain and around the world will mark August 31 the 25th anniversary of Lady Diana’s death in a traffic accident in Paris in 1997. The RS car is mainly done in white, but Diana opted for black .
In this vehicle, the company has also added special safety features for them, such as two rear view mirrors.
This car only had 25,000 miles. Last year, the car used by Diana was also auctioned, it was also a Ford Escort and it was bought for 52 thousand pounds (61 thousand one hundred dollars).
