VIENNA, (Muhammad Amir Siddique) __ Prime Minister of Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Vienna, Austria on Sunday, February 15, on an official visit. The Prime Minister was received by Pakistan’s Ambassador Muhammad Kamran Akhtar at the Vienna airport in Austria. The staff of the Pakistani embassy were also present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister’s delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Syed Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Baloch. This visit is completing 70 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
During his one-day stay, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif will hold a special meeting with Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stoker on February 16, 2026. The Prime Minister will also chair the Pakistan Austria Business Forum meeting, which is being organized by the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO). He will also visit multilateral organizations. He will also attend the Interpol Global Fraud Conference at the United Nations (UNODC) headquarters.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Vienna is the first visit to Austria by a Pakistani Prime Minister in three decades, the last visit was by the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 1992.
Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will leave for Vienna Airport on the night of February 16 to return.
