Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Meets Pakistan Pavilion Team for 61st Venice Biennale 2026.

Lahore, (TW News) __ Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met with the team representing Pakistan at the 61st Venice Biennale 2026, the world’s oldest and largest international art exhibition, to be held in Venice, Italy.

The meeting was attended by Najam Sethi, renowned Pakistani artist Faiza Butt, Pakistan Pavilion Curator Beatriz Cifuentes Feliciano, and Pakistan Pavilion Commissioner Dr. Yaqoob Khan Bangash.

During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Prime Minister on Pakistan’s participation in the Venice Biennale, highlighting that the Pakistan Pavilion will showcase the country’s traditional art, rich aesthetics, and cultural beauty to international visitors and art enthusiasts from around the world. The delegation further informed that a series of cultural and artistic events will be organized under the Pakistan Pavilion from May to November 2026, aimed at promoting Pakistan’s diverse cultural heritage and creative expression on a global stage.

The Prime Minister was also informed that the Venice Biennale, established in 1895, is the world’s oldest and most prestigious contemporary art exhibition, renowned for its diversity, innovation, and global influence.

Welcoming the delegation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of projecting Pakistan’s history, culture, and artistic diversity to the international community. He underlined the need to highlight the values of inclusivity and cultural richness embedded in Pakistan’s heritage through global platforms such as the Venice Biennale.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to inaugurate the Pakistan Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale 2026.
