PM Shehbaz Chairs Meeting to Boost Pakistan’s Global Trade Competitiveness.

BRUSSELS/ISLAMABAD, (Unib Rashid) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired an important review meeting at the Prime Minister’s House to discuss measures aimed at increasing Pakistan’s exports and accelerating the pace of economic growth.

The development of an export-oriented industry remains a top priority of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), with the government focusing on enhancing the competitiveness of Pakistani products and expanding their access to international markets.

the Prime Minister directed that special attention be given to value addition in exports to increase both the value and global competitiveness of Pakistani products.

The meeting reviewed measures being taken to strengthen the country’s export base and create greater opportunities for Pakistani businesses in international markets.

It was also highlighted that Pakistan is pursuing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with several friendly countries to enhance market access for Pakistani products and expand the country’s presence in the global marketplace.

The meeting was further informed that important work is underway to harmonize Pakistan’s intellectual property laws with modern requirements. The initiative is aimed at promoting innovation, encouraging value addition and strengthening the competitiveness of Pakistani exports.

The government is pursuing a range of measures to promote an export-oriented industrial sector, improve access to international markets and create an environment conducive to innovation and sustainable economic growth.

The SIFC continues to facilitate investment and industrial development as part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s economy and increase its export potential.
