London (Shahzad Ali) – The Pakistan High Commission in London recently held an engaging Mango Festival, spotlighting the country’s beloved fruit and its cultural significance. The event was graced by renowned folk singer Arif Lohar as the guest of honour and drew a diverse crowd, including diplomats, senior UK government officials, prominent members of the Pakistani diaspora, and media representatives.
In his address, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, emphasized the vital role of mango cultivation in Pakistan’s agricultural landscape. He articulated how mangoes epitomize the nation’s agricultural prowess and reflect the dedication of its farmers. “Pakistani mangoes, distinguished by their captivating aroma and unique flavor, serve as a symbol of Pakistan’s identity on the global stage,” Dr. Faisal noted.
Attendees enjoyed a delectable array of mango-inspired dishes, including shakes, custards, pastries, and cakes, which garnered positive feedback for their delightful flavors. The festival also highlighted Pakistan’s impressive export of over 200 mango varieties, celebrated internationally for their exceptional quality and distinctive taste.
