Brussels, (Unib Rashid) – Pakistan has once again secured the top position worldwide in the European Union’s Erasmus+ higher education scholarship programme, maintaining its leading status for the fifth consecutive year.

According to the European Union Office in Islamabad, Pakistan remained the highest-ranked country globally in receiving fully funded Erasmus+ scholarships awarded by the EU this year.

A total of 98 Pakistani students were awarded these prestigious fully funded scholarships. This year, the European Union announced 1,872 scholarships under its flagship Erasmus+ programme for students from around the world.

The EU also released the list of the top five recipient countries. Pakistan ranked first with 98 scholarship awardees, followed by Bangladesh in second place with 80 scholarships. India secured third position with 75 scholarships, while the United States and Italy ranked fourth and fifth with 68 and 67 scholarships respectively.

Pakistan’s continued success in the Erasmus+ programme reflects the academic excellence, talent, and growing international competitiveness of Pakistani students. By maintaining the top position for five consecutive years, Pakistani scholars have once again brought pride and recognition to the country on the global educational stage.
