Washington/Brussels, (Unib Rashid) __ Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington on Thursday on the sidelines of the Board of Peace Leaders’ meeting. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated Donald Trump and Secretary Rubio on the successful inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace and reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to work with the initiative for the implementation of the Gaza Peace Plan.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strong Pakistan–United States strategic relations and expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral ties. They also agreed to further enhance trade, economic cooperation, and collaboration in counter-terrorism efforts.

Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the need for sustained high-level engagement between Pakistan and the United States to advance shared objectives in an increasingly complex global environment.
