Los Angeles, (TW News) — The Consulate General of Pakistan in Los Angeles organized a seminar at the Mission to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, reaffirming unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).
The seminar was attended by prominent members of the Pakistani-American community, leaders and representatives of diaspora organizations, media professionals, and academicians. The event aimed to highlight the ongoing human rights situation in IIOJK and to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for self-determination.

Addressing the gathering, Consul General of Pakistan, Mr. Asim Ali Khan, underscored the historical significance of Kashmir Solidarity Day, noting that for nearly eight decades the Kashmiri people have courageously resisted illegal Indian occupation while making immense sacrifices. He drew attention to the grave and worsening human rights situation in IIOJK, emphasizing that it remains a serious concern for the international community.
The Consul General stated that following India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019, efforts to consolidate occupation through administrative and legislative measures in IIOJK have intensified. He urged the international community to move beyond expressions of concern and take concrete steps to halt ongoing human rights violations.
Reiterating Pakistan’s principled stance, Mr. Asim Ali Khan affirmed that Pakistan would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri people until they are able to exercise their right to self-determination through a free and impartial plebiscite, in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions. He also shared special messages issued by the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion.

During the seminar, a documentary portraying the resilience and steadfastness of the Kashmiri people in the face of India’s brutalities and illegal occupation was screened. Leaders of various community organizations also addressed the audience, voicing their unwavering support for the oppressed people of IIOJK.
A photo exhibition highlighting different dimensions of human rights violations in IIOJK was also organized to raise public awareness and sensitize participants to the ground realities.
Participants expressed appreciation to the Consulate General for organizing the seminar and for consistently highlighting the longstanding Jammu and Kashmir dispute. They reaffirmed their solidarity with the Kashmiri people and their commitment to supporting their just cause.
The Consulate General further amplified the message of solidarity through its social media platforms, underscoring Pakistan’s continued support—along with that of the overseas Pakistani community—for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
