London, (Zahid Anwar Mirza) – Seven individuals have been arrested in Nigeria from a suspected online fraud compound that was targeting citizens of the United Kingdom.
According to authorities, the operation was carried out by Nigerian police based on intelligence provided by the National Crime Agency.
Police said the suspects allegedly used fake social media accounts and fraudulent cryptocurrency investment schemes to deceive victims. During the raid, officers recovered several mobile phones, SIM cards, and a laptop.
The operation also involved cooperation from the social media company Meta.
Officials stated that such international cooperation is essential to effectively combat the growing threat of online fraud.
