Mahathir Mohamad Rejects Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan, Calls It an “Imposed Solution”

Brussels, (Unib Rashid) __ Malaysia’s former Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, has described U.S. President Donald Trump’s so-called peace plan for the Palestinians in Gaza as nothing more than an “imposed solution.”

In a statement, he outlined the features of Trump’s plan in eight brief points, under the heading “Trump’s Proposals,” and shared his views:

  1. Trump’s 20-point plan to stop Israel’s genocide of Palestinians is not a diplomatic offer to Hamas.
  2. On the contrary, it is a threat in disguise.
  3. The message is: accept this plan within four days, or the killings will not stop—rather, they will intensify.
  4. The plan was jointly prepared by Trump and Netanyahu. It is acceptable to Israel only because its Prime Minister himself drafted it.
  5. Like Netanyahu, Trump also seeks control over Gaza, which in practice means Palestinians must surrender unconditionally.
  6. How the two conspirators expect Hamas to surrender is mind-boggling. Already, over 60,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli bombardment. What Trump and Netanyahu are proposing is essentially to bury these sacrifices under further devastation, so their loss goes in vain.
  7. Trump is not a peace-maker. He relies on threats of high tariffs, sanctions, and pressure tactics, forcing parties into submission. Yet, he has failed—killings continue in Ukraine and Russia, and the genocide in Gaza will also continue.
  8. If Hamas rejects this plan, I will not be surprised. The killings will only continue more brutally, now with America’s backing.
