Kashmiris lost a strong advocate with passing of Sultan Chaudhry, Says Ali Raza Syed.

Brussels/Mirpur, (Unib Rashid) __ Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KCEU) Ali Raza Syed has said, Kashmiris have lost a strong advocate and defender of their rights with passing of President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry.

In a condolence message Ali Raza Syed has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing away of the President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry.

He paid rich tribute to the late Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry for his distinguished political and social services, particularly his invaluable contributions towards effectively highlighting the Kashmir cause at international forums including European and British circles.

Ali Raza Syed said, he has had long-standing contact and cooperation with Barrister Sultan Mahmood on the Kashmir issue. He has always been active in highlighting the Kashmir issue and the rights of Kashmiris at the international level including European Union Headquarters Brussels.

Chair of KCEU stated that the services rendered by Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary in advocating the legitimate rights of the Kashmiri people will always be remembered. He remarked that Barrister Sultan was a seasoned statesman and a committed advocate of the Kashmir cause, whose tireless efforts played a pivotal role in amplifying the voice of the Kashmiri people across the world.

Upon hearing of Barrister Sultan Chaudhry’s death, Ali Raza Syed went to his house in Mirpur. Expressing heartfelt condolences to the family including son of the deceased, Ali Raza Syed said that by sharing their grief, he stands with the bereaved family in this hour of pain and sorrow.

Chair of KCEU prayed to Allah Almighty to grant Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhary a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and to bestow patience and fortitude upon the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

On other hand, Kashmir Council Europe has postponed the exhibition of pictorial book of European Photo-Journalist Cédric Gerbehaye on Kashmir “Kashmir: Wait and See” which was scheduled to be held in Mirpur on 1st and 2nd February 2026.
