Kashmir Black Day Commemorated at Pakistan High Commission London with Photo Exhibition and Seminar

London, (Shahzad Ali) __ The Pakistan High Commission in London marked Kashmir Black Day with an impactful photo exhibition and seminar aimed at raising awareness of the ongoing human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The event welcomed Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, along with notable British Parliament members, including Imran Hussain MP (Chair, All-Party Parliamentary Group on Kashmir), Adnan Hussain MP, and Lord Qurban Hussain. Kashmiri leaders, members from the British Kashmiri diaspora, and media representatives gathered to engage in meaningful discourse around this pressing issue.

In his keynote address, High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to achieving a peaceful resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in line with United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He condemned the continuing repression faced by individuals in the occupied territory and highlighted issues such as enforced disappearances, illegal detentions, communication blockades, and the use of pellet guns against civilians.

Dr. Faisal called on the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities in the United Kingdom to unite and amplify their voices in pursuit of a fair and lasting resolution to the Kashmir issue. His remarks echoed a sentiment of solidarity and collective action that can foster positive change.

British parliamentarians present reiterated their ongoing support for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. They underscored the importance of viewing the Kashmir dispute not merely as a bilateral issue between Pakistan and India, but as an internationally recognized conflict that warrants urgent attention. They encouraged the UK Government and the global community to advocate for an end to human rights violations in the region and to take constructive measures toward a peaceful, lawful resolution that aligns with the will of the Kashmiri people.

Other speakers offered heartfelt tributes to the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri community, who have persisted in their quest for self-determination despite enduring decades of challenges under Indian occupation forces.

Earlier, High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal inaugurated the photo exhibition, which depicted the grave human rights conditions in Jammu and Kashmir and the struggles faced by innocent civilians. This initiative aimed to highlight the human stories that underscore the historical and ongoing impacts of conflict, fostering empathy and understanding within the international community.
