Interfaith Iftar Dinner Held in Berlin’s Mitte District Under the Theme “Iftar for Everyone”

Berlin, (Mahwish Zafar) – An interfaith Iftar dinner was organized by several religious and social organizations in the Mitte district of Berlin, bringing together people from diverse faiths, cultures and communities.

The Mayor of Berlin’s Mitte district attended the event as a special guest. Addressing the gathering, she said the purpose of the program was to demonstrate that people from different religions, nations and backgrounds can come together and share the experience of breaking the fast in a spirit of harmony and mutual respect.

Khalid Mahmood, President of Islamic Tehreek Berlin, said that the event was organized in collaboration with a local church to bring together people of all races and backgrounds.

During the event, an African participant from Kenya introduced herself to the media as Maria, saying she had come on behalf of her organization to present Bantu, a traditional Kenyan dish, as part of the Iftar meal.

Kubra, a representative of a Turkish-origin Muslim welfare organization, expressed her happiness at seeing people gather under the open sky to break their fast together. She said the Iftar dinner was arranged jointly with various religious groups, including Bilal Mosque, as well as with the cooperation of the district administration.

Participants at the event said that programs promoting religious harmony are essential for fostering understanding and for the healthy upbringing of children growing up in multicultural societies.

At the call of the Adhan according to the local time, attendees collectively broke their fast. The Iftar table featured a variety of traditional dishes from different countries, reflecting the cultural diversity of the participants.
