Islamabad/Brussels, (Unib Rashid) – In a significant diplomatic breakthrough, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in his capacity as mediator, marking a major step toward strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the United States and Iran.
The agreement was also formally signed by U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a high-level ceremony in Islamabad. The memorandum reflects the commitment of all three parties to pursue constructive engagement, regional stability, and peaceful resolution of outstanding issues through diplomatic channels.
The signing of the Islamabad MoU highlights Pakistan’s growing role as a facilitator of international dialogue and underscores Islamabad’s efforts to promote peace and understanding in a region facing complex geopolitical challenges.
Officials described the agreement as a historic development that could pave the way for enhanced cooperation and confidence-building measures between Washington and Tehran.
