Brussels / Berlin, (Unib Rashid) — German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has spoken by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to convey Germany’s concerns regarding the situation in the Palestinian territories.

In his statement, Merz said he was “deeply concerned” about recent developments in the Palestinian areas. He added that during the call with Netanyahu, he made it clear that there should be no real annexation of the West Bank.
