Islamabad, (TW News) __ Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif met with Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, to discuss matters relating to law and order, development, and public welfare in the province.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for close cooperation between the federal and provincial governments to ensure the development and prosperity of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He underlined that maintaining law and order in the province requires coordinated efforts by both the federation and the provincial government, terming such collaboration essential for sustainable peace.

The Prime Minister stressed that the provincial government must further enhance its efforts to maintain law and order and strengthen provincial institutions to effectively counter terrorism. He reaffirmed that the federal and provincial governments will continue joint efforts for the complete eradication of terrorism.

Highlighting constitutional responsibilities, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the provincial government must play its due role in ensuring peace and public welfare in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He noted that the province enjoys administrative autonomy and should take concrete steps to improve health, education, and other essential services for its people.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the federal government has always remained committed to the welfare of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will continue to extend full support within its constitutional mandate. He described Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as an important federating unit and assured that the federal government will persist in its efforts to promote prosperity and development in the province.

He further emphasized that close coordination and effective communication between the federation and the provinces are vital for national development and public service delivery. The Prime Minister assured federal support for development projects, infrastructure improvement, education, healthcare, and the creation of employment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in line with the federal government’s scope of authority.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated that the federal government believes in taking all provinces along and remains committed to a vision of balanced and inclusive development. He added that national unity, stability, and prosperity can be achieved through mutual consultation and collective efforts between the federation and the provinces.
